David Leighton Memorial Scholarship – Serving others and living a life for Christ.

David Leighton demonstrated his faith in Christ whether in the classroom, leading singing in Chapel, working with students individually, or playing kickball during recess. Eagle Wings benefited from the wisdom he acquired over his years of teaching, and we thank God that He sent David to us during our final years as a stand-alone school.

After retirement, he continued serving the Lord in our Eagle Wings family by becoming a board member, volunteering to provide academic supports to our scholarship students enrolled in Faith Heritage School and being a faithful prayer partner to several of our students. His earthly life ended in 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.

With this scholarship, we honor the legacy of David Leighton and his impact upon hundreds of students throughout his career. Scholarships will be awarded to EWA graduates who pursue a college/career track, who demonstrate that they love the Lord God and who have set themselves apart by diligently preparing for the work that God has prepared for them to do.
