I rarely think of bearing the image of God, but Genesis 1:26 says, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.” We are image bearers of God-the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As such, our weaknesses don’t surprise our Creator but even more importantly, we should be reflecting the characteristics of God to others in our community.
The Lord has been bringing this truth to my attention more recently, through different devotions, messages, and podcasts. It has challenged me to reflect and ask Him to help me bear His image to others through showing love, kindness, forgiveness, service, and sharing who Christ is and what He has done for me. I know I do it imperfectly, but I am grateful for the example of my perfect Savior.
How humbling to think that we are made in the image of God! He chose us to bear His image and reflect Him to a broken and hurting world.
